- 1-1/2 pounds raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1-1/2 pounds chicken breast, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons Cajun or Creole seasoning
- 1 bell pepper, seeded and diced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 cup half-and-half
- 3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups cooked white rice
Instructions:
In a skillet heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken and season with garlic powder, Cajun or Creole seasoning and bell pepper. Sauté for 5-8 minutes or until chicken is cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Add butter to skillet with the onion and garlic. Sauté for 3 minutes or until onion is softened. Sprinkle in the flour and stir to combine. Gradually add the chicken broth and the white wine. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes, stirring until the sauce is thickened.
Stir in Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, fresh parsley, half-and-half, cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese. Stir until all ingredients are combined. Add chicken and shrimp to the sauce and cook for 5 minutes or until shrimp is cooked through.
Serve over cooked white rice. Enjoy!
