Place the pan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 20 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and set aside until later.
- While the rice is cooking, prepare the remainder of the ingredients for the dish. Cut 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast into cubes and season lightly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. In a separate bowl, season 1/2 pound of raw shrimp with the same seasonings.
