Instructions
Once you have all of your ingredients, you are ready to get started. Follow these steps to make the perfect chicken pot pie:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the flour and pepper, and cook for 1 minute more. Add the chicken broth and mix well. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the chicken, potatoes, celery, peas and carrots, parsley, and thyme, and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Pour the mixture into a 9 inch unbaked pie crust and top with the second crust. Cut several slits in the top of the crust to allow the steam to escape.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
