General Tso’s Famous Chicken Crockpot
Cooking something special yet easy? General Tso’s chicken crockpot is just the perfect choice. This dish is full of flavor and sure to impress friends and family.
Ingredients
In order to make the most out of this amazing dish, here’s what you need:
– 2 pounds chicken, cubed
– 1 onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
– 1 cup chicken broth
– 1/4 cup rice vinegar
– 1/4 cup tomato paste
– 1/4 cup brown sugar
– 1 tablespoon chili flakes
– 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger
– 2 tablespoons cornstarch
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1. Heat both olive oil and garlic in a large pan over medium-high heat.
2. When hot, add in the chicken and onion and cook until lightly browned.
3. Add chicken broth, soy sauce, vinegar, tomato paste, brown sugar, chili flakes, and ginger to the pan. Cover and reduce heat to low.
4. Simmer the mixture for 15 minutes.
5. Pour cooked chicken and sauce into crockpot. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
6.Stir in cornstarch and cook for additional 15 minutes.
7.Serve over rice or noodles.
